This historical trail is a best when done with a good group of friends or family members. It is located in a residential neighborhood of the Pacific Palisades. You will have to literally take the steps to success to see the incredible remains of what was once a Nazi base, built in the 1930s. Murphey's Ranch is perfect for children, dogs, and the StairMaster addicts. Seriously, to see the concrete remains of a water storage tank, diesel generators, and a house with bunkers you have to take the stairs. Be sure to pack water for yourselves and don't even bother with counting the steps. Some parts are narrow, other parts are steep. The buildings are currently covered in vibrant graffiti, a common thing in LA, offering a bit of edge to the scenery.
